Hey everyone, This is an outfit that I wore yesterday (8th). The pictures were taken right after school and I'm so glad the snow is gone for at least the next 3 days which gives me a chance to wear something 'shootable' :D I did not have time to post it yesterday so that's the reason for doing it now.

Oh I forgot to feature these booties in my D.C haul, I bought them at Kmart... I think that's the place and it was on sale for 19,99$ from like 30$ or so. I was so stocked when I saw them, my right foot is slightly too big for the shoe but the left fits perfectly. (I hate having different sized feet!). That's when the them 'beauty is pain' comes in.

I really like the 'peek-a-boo' look of my floral tights.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Mine was spent working because this was my working weekend. I feel like time is flying by so fast... last time I checked it was Friday and I didn't wanna go to work the next day... and all of a sudden it's Monday again and I have to force myself to get out of my warm bed at 6:00AM!

I mean it's disappointing in a way (I didn't touch any books) but on a brighter note, summer is almost here so I can travel again :)

Today I have for you a haul from my trip... I know I'm so late at posting haha (i'm lazy)

Oh you guys have no idea how happy I was ( ' am ) after purchasing the VANS and the brogues. After seeing them all over #Tumblr I just couldn't resist. They were the first thing on my list and I FINALLY OWN VANS shoes. They are so pretty... can't wait to rock them in the summer when we (hopefully) will have some sun. Would rock them with some tight shorts while strolling downtown with my camera whilst photographing some street style photographs for my blog. There's a lot to happen this year. Let's just home all goes as intended.

I also plan on doing a more beautified haul... from make up to nail polishes. I don't know if I should though cause it might seem a little pointless haha. So I would genuinely appreciate if you comment on this post if you would be interested in seeing what polishes I bought or I should just wait with them and do swatches.

Hi you lovers, thank you so much for all your sweet and nice comments on my last post. I truly enjoyed reading them and because of you I feel like my blog has improved tremendously, and so have my writing skills. I'm happy for my followers and thank you for making me reach 70. I remember when I started out with like 4 followers for almost a year hahah.

Washington D.C | Part 1 (at the airport)

Hello pretty girls (and boys?), hope you're all doing well and are enjoying the beginning of a new year. 2011 was great for me and many great things took place. I'm very blessed to have my family and everyone being healthy is all I could wish for. Hope all your wishes came true.

As most of you know after Christmas my mum and I took a 10 day trip to Washington D.C (Maryland) where we visited my aunt. We spent New Years Eve over there and we had so much fun. Eating zambian food everyday was such a pleasure since here you can barely find the ingredients needed or they are just way overly priced.

I took a LOT of photos whilst there and I am currently in the editing and choosing which ones to post work. It takes up time and, I've also decided to cut them in parts so here is part one :)

Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm late but I haven't had any time to be online since I arrived, been doing so much for the past 4 days. Now I have sorted everything out and I will be blogging along.

I didn't do much for New Years, we just stayed in and had some really nice food and chit chatted. Hope you enjoyed your night and so far you are having an amazing year.

Outfit | Dinner & The movies

Hi girls, hope you are all having/had an amazing day. As you are reading this I'm either on my way to the airport or already on the plane to DC or maybe I've already arrived. I have scheduled some posts for while I'm on the 'holiday' so the blog doesn't completely feel abandoned cause it has feelings too you know... otherwise if I won't post anything after this until the New Year then I wish you a very fab NY and I can't wait to see your NYE outfits. Also I would like to thank every single one of you for following my blog and for always being able to take time out of your everyday lives to read and comment on my posts. All your sweet comments bring out the best in me (don't really know if that saying fits with the rest of the words but imagine if it did). You're the most amazing thing. I always look forward to seeing what everyone is going to think about my outfits and such.

On the 28th the day before we departed, we decided to have dinner at a somewhat fancy restaurant and afterwards we hit the cinema to watch Mission Impossible x3 its called ghost postrol or something... whatever that means (it's 03:00AM right now and I can't be bothered to look up the meaning behind it). It was a great watch and it totally made me love Tom Cruise even more <3 he looked so badass with blood and sweat mixed... disgusting combo but he made it so cool haha

Nails | No Room For The Blues

Hola chicas, qué pasa? to be honest I have no idea what that even means...Today I have this colour to show you all. It's O.P.I's 'no room for the blues'. I don't exactly know from which collection this is.

Though it's a gorgeous blue colour, these are the types of colours I like wearing wether it's a clothing item or a ring. I wouldn't call this a teal colour but I could say that it's a sort of ocean blue... is that the right way of saying it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry for the whole messiness, I wanted to capture the nails before I smudged them lol, guess I failed a little. I just added more polish and voilá!

And here is a nicer picture that is taken after I had worn the polish for a day and the edges had been cleaned. It's so hard to take photos of my own nails :(

I really love this colour. I would call it my current favourite!

I was on Tumblr this morning (and I ended up being on there all day even though I was planning on reading a book today... what a shame) and I saw this screen capture of some teenagers' facebook and twitter statuses where they were all complaining about not receiving this one present for Christmas, the Iphone 4S. The words they used to the public were so hurtful, they were talking shit and disrespecting their parents without even knowing the reason behind them not receiving that touch screen phone. What if their parents are having financial problems? Young people of nowadays (most of them) are so spoiled and I can't help but feel sad for them because being a brat in my opinion won't do much for one in the future.

There are kids out there that don't receive anything at all for Christmas and they wished they did but grown up kids be disrespecting their parents just because of one gift. One even mentioned something about receiving $750 and he/she thought it was worthless and she/he still needed the Iphone 4S, I mean really people, really???

I just wanted to share my opinion on this topic, hopefully I made sense because usually when I'm exhausted nothing that comes out of my mouth/brain makes sense lol. Appreciate all the little things that you get, Christmas shouldn't be about receiving expensive gifts, it should be about receiving something made with love. Spending time with your family is the most high note of Christmas for me and if you don't appreciate that they I sure as hell feel sorry for ya.

Hi everyone, do you believe that it's only 1 day till Christmas eve? December has really flown by way too quick. I haven't even finished shopping for Christmas presents yet... but I'm done with most gifts all I need to do is wrap them up :D

Newly Purchased | Clothes, jewelry & some beauty related products

Hi, hope you are well and looking forward to Christmas. I have a small haul for you... some of these items were purchased maybe 2 months ago or so ~~(okay maybe not that long ago but you get the drill)~~ they were purchased quite long ago. And I am just now showing them to you because of the procrastinator that I happen to be.

I call this the 'slouchy vest cardigan' and I am proud to say that I finally own something mustard coloured in my closet which turns out to be this vest. I love it. They had it in black as well but I chose this colour because its pretty and I wanted something like this in my closet as I happened to not own anything like it. I'm so happy with my purchase.

This fur vest you recently saw in an outfit post and my step-dad bought it for me when he was in London a while back. It's from Topshop and it's by a brand called QUIZ.

I will feature this sweater in an upcoming outfit post but if you want you can see a photo on my lookbook.nu that I posted yesterday. I love the burgundy colour and it's also a first to add to my closet as I have nothing in this colour. I'm improving aren't I? lol

I got this set of rings from a newly opened store at the mall called Lindex, they have this store in Denmark and other scandinavian countries I am guessing. They have some nice jewelry and to me the store is quite similar to H&M. I think I might just have a new favourite store :)

Then I also received this beauty box set thingy from boots. It contains:

A body scrub

A body butter

and a body wash.

I also got some shea butter that I have been craving all year since I didn't seem to find anything here. I finally got some but I didn't get any photos. I heard its really good for natural hair and I really hope it does that it's said it does. If you are a natural and are a frequent user of shea butter then please let me in the comments on tumblr, twitter about how you use it and if there are any special great way to use it.

Nails | O.P.I's Lincoln park after dark

Hi my lovely followers, hope you are all doing great and are excited to open your christmas presents and spend the holidays with your families.

This is the manicure that I'm wearing as I speak. It's the most hyped about fall/winter polish ever by O.P.I, it's 'Lincoln park after dark' which is a very dark sort of bloody wine red colour. From afar it may look black but its actually a sort of dark red/purple. It looks amazing on short nails!

It is a very difficult colour to explain and all of us have different opinions of how it looks and stuff. I love the colour and this is one of the many times of my wearing it but never got to take any photos until now.

I have scheduled some posts for this week because I have three more days of work and I also need to finish wrapping the presents and start exchanging with my friends. A very busy week ahead of me and only 8 days remaining till I see my aunt who I haven't seen for like 10 years!!! Oh I can´t wait.
I'm also currently re-decorating my room and I am planning on doing a 'before and after' sort of post. That's all for today.

Hello to all you pretty ladies out there, hope you are all doing well and looking forward to the holidays cause I am! Two more exams and I'll be free from school books for some weeks which is not bad. 20 more days till I leave for Washington and just you imagine the excitement.

On Wednesday I met up with my two girlfriends and our plan was to hit up the library at our local shopping center, but instead we ended up spending the whole day walking around browsing for christmas presents. I don't regret it at all but damn!

As I was getting ready I aimed for a sort of 'me' outfit which is all about comfort. I chose this plaid shirt that I featured in one of my hauls and I think I even featured it in an outfit post as well... if not you can see it on the left side bar where all my lookbook outfits are.

I decided to add this fur vest\cardigan thing that dad bought me when he was in London. There will be a haul coming up about some latest purchases and such so look out. I love it, its really warm and fashionable! Then I just wore some tan\camel coloured fur booties with a wedge so they were very comfortable for walking.

I haven't worn this belt for such a long time, I don't know why... but this might be like the second or third time of it being worn. I love the bowl detail.

Life | Out With Family, Food & Outfit

Hi everyone, happy December and I wish you all a very merry Christmas... too soon?

I have started jotting down my Christmas shopping list... this year I won't be asking for anything much but the list is for what I wish to buy for myself (don't worry I have listed down gifts to buy for others too) I wanna splurge a little.

This night was back in the beginning of November, me and my family went to the theatre... again and this is what we were wearing. Hope you like!

I'm wearing my heart(-y) playsuit from H&M, vintage shoes, blazer you've seen before and some tights layered with some knee high socks :) And since it was cold I added a scarf and my usual beanie.

Mum's outfit of that night, you all have seen the shoes before, the dress is from New Yorker, blazer is from Mango. Does she look like she's past her 30's? I didn't think so. My momma looks smoking!<3

Parents seemed to enjoy themselves, especially mum ;)

What I had for dinner, I had a great vegetable pie. Gosh it was so delish. And the garlic bread dipped in the sauce even made things better.

Today I had my first final exam and it was biology, I performed well and hope the work will show on my grades.1/5 done. Still a long way to go. I have no school on Friday so I will sleep in :) and no work this weekend. I might just hit the gym. Good luck to you all who have finals.

Fashion | Winter Outfits (first session)

Im well. As mentioned in the latest update post exam anxiety is approaching pretty quickly. Otherwise Im fine. Today I went to see a documentary called When China Met Africa which follows the lives of three chinese men in Zambia, about their adventures and Zambian power brokers as they negotiate of the rapidly expanding and vital relationship between the two countries. I thought it was a very well documented movie and now I want to study filmography o.O
If you are interested in seeing what the future has in coming for these two countries and overall Africa then I suggest you see the movie.

Anyway since I have been lacking on posts regarding outfits, I decided to create some looks on Polyvore. I wanted to keep the post short so I went with three outfits, the first is very casual, second outfit is a little bit on the casual side as well but it sure can be dressed up for a little more fancy fit. And the last outfit is considered a fancy one in my opinion... and appropriate for the cold weather. They are based on winter and the reason being is that it finally started snowing yesterday. Which Im happy about because I like waking up to see the place piled with cm of snow and no one has driven or walked by, though I hate when it becomes very slippery and windy... maybe even rain at the same time! Hope you like the outfits and let me know which one is your most favourite of them all :)

This is the casual outfit for sure, very lightweight and comfortable. You are cozied up by the scarf and the beanie/hat. Perfect outfit for school, just remember your hot cup of something to drink, wether its chocolate or coffee.

This second outfit is both on the fancy and the casual side. It's easily transformable from day wear into the night. To take that step you would firstly change into the lace up booties instead of Uggs, add the fur for a sleek chic look or the leather jacket for a little bit of a edge and a clutch bag... maybe a red lippy and I promise you. You'll look like a million bucks in no time!

Girls night out is the name of this outfit. It's marked winter 2. because I was creating a collection for the winter and I wasn't creative enough at the time of the collage creation. And I was too lazy to change it lol. You could also transform this outfit into the day by minimizing the sexy-ish tights. And definitely the lips! Otherwise you are all set for a night out in town with your besties.

Hi everyone, hope you are having a great week. I'm well except the fact that this school semester is finally coming to an end, I'm quite ~~happy~~ but then sad and anxious at the same time because its time for exams. And also I now have a job so I might just tell you a little bit about that. I'll also be celebrating New Years in the States visiting my aunt :D:D:D

You all know how I've been rambling on and on that I needed to find myself a job so I could post more hauls since I love shopping but unfortunately money doesn't fall off trees for me. So yeah one quit day in October, after school I decided to walk over to the supermarket called Hagkaup since it's right next to my school. It's a very large store and it even has a beauty department as well which is a plus because they sell pretty much ~~everything~~ and I get 10% discount! I went there and talked to the person in charge and I filled in an application.

To my surprise she called me the next day and asked if I could go there and try out for the job. I agreed and met up with her, tried working for about 3 hours and it was very fun... for me because this might sound a lil weird but I've always wanted to try and work in a supermarket as a cashier. Since I enjoyed myself I just decided to sign papers and continue working there. That's how I got the job and now I will be waiting for my paycheck each month :D

I'm really proud of myself and feel like I can do anything, I can look after myself and I feel like an independent woman. So yeah that's my story.

Now the other part is that final exams are approaching. In case you are interested, this semester I was taking Sports/P.E 101, Math 122, English 212, History 103, Economics 103, French 103, Biology 103 and Sociology 103. The numbers are to show in which classes I am in and how many ECTS. For instance 102 is equivalent to 2 ects. and so on. This semester I am heading for 20 ects which is the max amount aloud to be taken.

Our system works like this, over the semester in Math, History, Biology and Sociology; if I perform well on the tests and my attendance is high then I don't need to take the final exams which is such a huge relief because then I wouldn't be needing to study ALL of the material again and memorizing it all. Still not getting what Im saying? Ok for instance in math I need to have 18 or higher combining the grades I get from the 3 tests that I take over the semester. So like tomorrow I have a math test and I only need to get 1,9 (or higher) to pass the Math class and I won't be needing to take the final exam which is great!

Well hope you at least understood something of this school stuff of mine and how it all works lol. And hope I didn't bore you. And just a little warning, my finals begin on the 1st and end on the 14th so please bare with me as you always do. I might disappear for a while but I promise I will be back to show you what I will be wearing for the holidays and definitely some hauls and next year I will start posting about my natural hair growth as well so there is a lot to come.

Oh yeah one day I came home from a very long day at school and I was just overall tired of existing and I just had a bad day, my lovely mother announced to me that she had bought us tickets to DC for the holidays. You should have seen my face, I was ecstatic... I still am lol. I can't wait to hit up some thrift stores and dig up all those gorgeous blazers. It will be my first time stepping in North-America so I hope it will be a good trip :)

P.S I feel like "phashionista" doesn't really suite my type of blog. I am thinking of changing the name once more... I need a name that really reflects on my life and me. I want people to read the name of my blog and from that moment have an idea of what they are getting into. Do you have any suggestions? if so let me know.

Nails | O.P.I's Nicki Minaj & The Muppets Collection!!!

Om gash!!!

I just found out... well I guess its been out there for a while but I just found out about it now. O.P.I is coming out with a Nicki Minaj collection this coming January and they have already launched The Muppets collection.

The other day I went to the local beauty store, I saw the Muppet collection and I literally died of pleasure (insidee) at just how gorgeous the colours were. Let me show you what Im talking about.

The colours are all so glittery and pretty! I want the whole collection... but we all know thats not going to happen.

This outfit is from the summer, actually it might even be from the spring time who knows...
As you can see Im wearing it in one of my pictures on my header and actually one of my very great readers Diane is the one who admired it so much and so she inspired me to post it.

This outfit can be easily transitioned to a night wear but adding a blazer, adding some nice wedges or just some practical high heels, a red lip and maybe minimizing the amount of jewelry. I think you would be set for a night out. So you will see that first Im wearing grey sneakers and later I add some white wedges.

Artist Of The Week | Big Sean

Hi everyone, hope you had a great week. I feel like October has gone by way too fast... anyone else think the same as me?

My week was okay, I was a lil grumpy cause you know... but guess its normal right. I stuffed my face with chocolate and pretty much anything that was near me lol.

I came up with the idea of doing these like weekly beatz. At first I was going to just post about the songs that I've been listening to a lot over the week, but instead I decided to make it about artists :) It's just to share my music taste and I hope you like the idea :D

This week's artist is BIG Sean. I had heard of him sometime before but I actually never got to LISTEN to any of his songs until now from G.O.O.D Music... it was held by Heineken or something and Kanye West was singing live. I decided to watch the video of Big Sean's "My Last" song and I instantly fell in love with him, I have literally been listening to him all week.

He also recently did a collab with one of my favourite female artists Kelly Rowland, the song is called "Lay It On Me".

Hi everyone, here is an outfit that I wore two weeks ago and the occasion was to see a play and the theatre.

I seized the opportunity and decided to wear one of the lace dresses that I purchased over the summer.

I chose the white one because I wanted to wear a black blazer for warmth... even though we were inside it was pretty ~~darn~~ cold. I also added some plain black tights with some leopard print wedgies and earrings. As you can see I have combined quite a lot of prints together, the animal print, to the lace and to the snake like print on the blazer. Don't be afraid to mix prints because that's what makes the outfit stand out!

Here is a quick outfit post. This is an outfit that I wore sometime back...
I am not a very big fan of wearing jean jackets but this particular one caught my eye. I think its really unique and it has studs! Also the shape of it is very different. So yeah I decided to try it out. I might just have to look for one for myself because they can be great when you are stuck on deciding what to wear that day. You could just throw on some cute jeans and add a jean jacket and a scarf and you'll be ready in no time!

Hola mi amigas! Pheew happy October and hope you are enjoying your week and looking forward to the weekend cause I am...

It's been quite a while since I posted last hasn't it? Well I have a reason and that is... school, school and more school; I've been taking tests like crazy lately, most nights were spent studying and sneak peaking a little on Tumblr lol but Im back now.

Today I have for you a nail polish called 'purple heart' by Gosh. I showed it in my 'instead of bawlin, im haulin' haul back in September... This week I decided to try it out and I love it so far! It's a gorgeous sparkly deep purple almost black colour, with glances of green in between and even blue. It's a little bit like those 'holographic' polishes that everyone was raving about over the summer (Im dying to get my hands on one )

It was a little streaky I thought, took about 2-3 coats to get the full colour but usually that doesn't bother me. It dries quite quicker than most polishes and the brush application is perfect for my nail size. Also I want to add that it was very difficult for my to capture the true colours of this polish without a tripod so please bare with me :)

I used O.P.I's top coat which i like but many people dislike it.

Happy Friday ya'll! Gaah Im so glad its finally a weekend, this week has been hectic. I've been taking test like crazy and writting essay *ewww* The past days the weather has been very depressing and its not been fun walking everyday to take the bus; but hey I can't complain because this is probably the best way I've ended a very boring week in a very long time. Un Award

Im so happy and thankful for every single award I have received. I never ever expected to receive any awards before because I guess I had no idea what those were in the 'blogsphere' until sometime this year when I got deeper into the blogging world.

For me its all about fun so getting to blabber on and on about me isn't so bad! ;)

Now my week hasn't been the best nor has it been the worst. I guess I can't complain, everything is going well. It's been one month since I started at my new school. All is going well and Im very happy :)

Thanks to the lovely Diane and Lita for passing this award over to me! The girls are beyond amazing. They genuinely the sweetest ever. They are very supportive and I love them (I love you too! <3). Fancy Friday: fashion fades, only style remains the same

This week's fancy friday outfit might have to be the best of them all, and also I'm starting to wonder if its the best outfit I've worn from the past 3 months. I love the jacket/blazer and the contrast of the red peeking through.

The jeans are not new, they are a friends cause you know how we do. I usually have the feeling of not owning anything in my closet so that's where my friend's closet comes in handy. Since we live opposite each other I pretty much just step two steps outside and I'm at hers' where I do my 'shopping for the week'. I just choose some items that I would like to wear during the week. Then at the end of the week or when we meet next I give them back :)

If you haven't tried out before then I suggest you do so, cause it can be fun. But instead of being in a dressing room, you are in your besties' room!

As most of you know we aren't allowed to wear outdoor shoes in our school so I'm usually just wearing socks on some cleaner outdoor shoes. Shhhhh...!!! don't tell anyone, others do it too hehe

I wore the outfit with my purple/grey sneakers and they looked fine together, but after school and it was time for photos I decided to add heels since I'm an upcoming "phasionista" right???

My Weekend In Photos & A Little Bit Of An Update

Bonjour ya'll, hope you are all doing bien.

One of the most hectic weeks just ended and one is up coming again. This week I had 5 tests and being the procrastinator that I am; I haven't really got any much sleep because I want to ACE all my courses and I will graduate earlier... (and move to Spain <3)

I have even more tests coming up this week and they are even harder :/ but I will try and do my best. And also I might be larking on posts because I will be reading and revising heavily. In my school we have this system whereby if you do well on the little tests over the semester, you get to cancel taking the final exam so that's my goal.

Anyway enough about school, last fancy friday I told you that I was rushing up the summerhouse. I have a great time with my parents and it was really cosy, I got to spend some quality time with mum and she helped me with homework and such... am I too old to ask for help from my parents??? - nah you lean more (in mahhh opinion). We chilled in the hot pot, watched movies, drove around the country side... while of course eating some good foods ^________^

A special ethiopian dish, its called YUMI something... that´s all I remember lol, but it only consists of vegetables.

the owner was so sweet and let me take a photo of her on her little coffe place. This is how she makes the coffe. Man its strong!

Instead Of Bawlin' I'm Haulin'

Hi, happy Monday everyone and hope you had a great weekend.

First I would like to say that thank you for all your support. When I came home last night and checked my last post. I received so many great and wonderful comments and it truly made my night :)

My weekend was great as most of you know because I went in the country side with my pops. It was great fun and we ate some real good food ^^

Here is are some items that I purchased in the past couple of months and since I have either only used them once or haven't yet, I decided to show you all what I bought.

Enjoy!

First I have some beauty related things, from nail polishes to eye liners. If you want to know the names of the nail polishes then scroll down a little and you will see both swatches and names. Then mum got me the earrings and the same styled necklace, they came in a set, usually I don't like wearing jewelries that come in sets together at the same time. I like mixing things up a little. i.e I wouldn't wear the necklace and earrings on the same day. I mostly usually wear one of the two and add accessorize with other jewels too. The bracelet was bought at a random sales store and I just really liked the colours of it :) Then I have some anti-perspirant and body lotion. I think I might have an obsession with Nivea...

Here is a close up of the nail polishes. They are from the O.P.I Texas Collection. Believe it or not I bought them in May... I know what a long time of waiting.

Yep and I'm such an awesome character that I decided to write the names by hand :D They were written in somewhat of a hurry so that explains the weird looking handwritting, otherwise my handwriting is quite good.

The black necklace came with the earrings you saw in the first picture. I really like the design of it, but I won't use it too often because I'm scared that the crystals are going to fall out hahah

The other blue/yellow/gold one I bought myself. I really like it especially on those lazy days where I usually layer on a lot of jewelry.

Recently I have been so much into the whole "girls wearing guys shirts" mode that I went and bought all of them in one week. I know it doesn't seem much but to me its a little too much. I really like the jean shirt, you saw me wear it in my latest 'fancy friday' post.

Then second is this sort of old skool I would say type of shirt. It's something I haven't really seen anybody wearing... maybe its more on the grandfathers's side hehe but i don't care, I like it :)

I think its unique. I'm still thinking of ways to wear it other than with jeans or leggings. I need different ideas so I stay fresh n' bawlin'.

The third one is like getting two in one. I like the plaid pattern and to me its always in for the fall time. Also its big a loose but not too big, I didn't try it on and I just bought it. Though when I was in the store I remember touching a same exact shirt and it was open like the two above, but when I came on and was going to try this one on, I realized it was closed. I was a little bit dissappointed but come to think of it I like it this way as well so I decided to keep this baby :D I love the fact that its pink and girly but not TOO pink. You get my drill???

So that's it for now guys. Now I will try and convince myself to study because I have two tests coming up this Thurdays, then one on Monday and again two on Thursday next week :(
My life is a living hell :/

Today I only had one class which was from 11:20-12:40 and afterwards I just came home and packed for the weekend. Right now Im in a hurry so I really can't say much about this outfit because I gotta be outta the house right now.

BTW These jeggings I borrowed from my friend and they are friggin comfortable. I am taking them with me to the summerhouse and I will try and wear them differently each day. I seriously need to buy myself a pair.

Menningarnótt (cultural night) '11

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well.
I here before warn you about this post. It's not the typical things I post about... well maybe a little bit hahaha so yeah this is just a post that has to do with cultural night as you can see from the title but also I give you a little scoop of what it is about and when it started and such. If you are interested then keep on reading but if not then I suggest you at least look at the photographs :)

A while back (August the 20th) was what we call 'menningarnótt' in other words- 'cultural night'. It is a yearly event held in Reykjavík only, its usually on the first saturday after August the 18th. It was created by the Reykjavík city council, and now it has seriously grown big and has become one of the largest festivals in Iceland, following Gay Pride and even Iceland Airwaves. It's even becoming more popular than the independence day (June the 17th).

It is estimated that as many as 100,000 people attend the annual concerts and festivities, while the population of Iceland is estimated to 315, 000 and the population of Reykjavík is estimated to 118,000- which means that only about 18,000 don't show up. That's ALOT of people right there.

The festival often consists of a main stage in the city centre (it happens pretty much with every festival there is here, gay pride as well) and many smaller events mostly in the city's centre but also spread over the city. The highlight of the festival is often an outside concert on the main stage by 3-4 of the most popular musicians in Iceland followed by a rather glamorous fireworks show.

Now for some pictures that I took that day. I won't be showing what I wore because it wasn't well put together, I changed my mind at the last minute and ran out the door to meet friends (maybe you might have noticed, but I seem to not really enjoy being surround my large amounts of people. I prefer to be alone)

Ok here is a lil photo some'ing. I just wore some shorts I cut up and (sort of) knee high length socks, stacked on necklaces and a fedora. I also added on a black and white cheetah print shirt from H&M.

Some photos were just way too difficult to sort out and they wouldnt fit my page and so on so this is it for now. Tomorrow I will definitely try and post something because I feel like I always make 'promises' that I never keep and I SERIOUSLY need to work on it. From now on I won't be promising anything hahaha

First I saw these shoes on a blog... can't recall the name :( but it was a 'street style' post and one of the girls was wearing these shoes. From their on I just fell in love and I said to myself that I must own these shoes. It doesn't have to happen now but it will definitely happen sometime soon hahah. The prize is a little wild but hey its Sam Edelman shoes so there isn't anything else to expect, but atleast they are way more affordable compared to loubotins:) I love the stud detailing and the colour to the heel. It's fall/winter, time to bring out all my beanies and hoodies. The only thing missing is the bowler type of hats. I really like this one because it has some feather attached which has been a huge trend this year. It's crazy. But good crazy :)

And of course its that time of the year where scarves are huge. I personally wear scarves all year round... incase you haven't noticed. My rule (especially in the fall-winter-spring time) is that your outfit isn't complete without a scarf. It can be a chunky one or a small thin one, its just something every girl has to consider. Also if you want you can keep on in your bag because you never know when the weather might decided to play you.

This collection is so great that my list could go on but I decided to keep it minimal. Go look at the collection and see if you like something from there. You might be able to snap one before they are out of stock or something haha, you never know with these things.

Hello everyone,
thank god of the heavens I FINALLY have internet connection up and working. I thought I would not survive hahah. I seriously didn't feel safe or something, there was just something really missing when we had no internet. Since Im back in school I decided to continue with my 'fancy friday' outfits. I have been doing this since I was in 8th grade, but I've never actually blogged about it before so I decided to get on it starting now.

Its basically where I sort of dress up always on Fridays because I have a short school day and its Friday duuuh. Here is yesterday's outfit.

First school day outfit & A little talk about my first week

Hiiiiiiii everyone!!!!!!

Man its been only 6 days since I last posted but it feels like F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!

Right now its 7 am and I woke up at 6:30 am. I slept too much... plus I have my allergies AGAIN!

Ok so lets start from my first day of school at my new school where I knew not so many people.

Tuesday:

My first day of school. I was driven to school like a 5 year old kid by my parents, the reason was that I had to go to the other side of the school for P.E since its my first class on tuesdays. There we just got some introductions and such, I walked to school with one girl and we chatted and boy did I ask her a lot of questions hahah... poor girl.

As I arrived in the school I headed straight for the office to get a key for my locker. I got one and then I headed for the locker itself. It took me 15 minutes to open it, like no jokes. literally 15 minutes just to open the locker, but guess what. The locker helped me make hall way friends hahaha.

Then in my next class it was so weird, the classroom was full and so hot. The air conditioning and windows were all on/open but it was still boiling. I didn't really talk to anyone or such plus the class was only 15 minutes = introduction.

Wednesday:

My second day of school I met one of my 'cousins' not blood related though, we had lunch together and chatted, oh yeah she's by the way 22. she'll graduate after 3 semesters. It was really nice to meet her :)

I had classes, went for my first french class which wasn't as difficult as I expected :D

Thursday:

I was at school from 8:10 - 17:40!. That's how my thursdays will be for the rest of the winter. At the end of the day I was so exhausted, mum fetched me from school and we went for some chinese take-out. I remember being very careful with what I ordered but somehow there was still something in the food that I was allergic to... later that evening I started to feel some itchiness and burning sensation on my lips. I ignored it and when to bed. The next morning it wasn't that seriously, my lips weren't swollen as they are usually when I react to something. But yesterday - Friday after school thats when they increased in size and pain :(:(:( I was so tired that I decided to nap, but my nap transfered into 11 hours of sleep. I have scheduled time with a dermatologist and this weekend I will go back to my allergist and see what she says about this againnn :(

Ok here is my outfit for Tuesday. I wanted something casual since I was in school for quite long and I wanted to be comfortable, also we aren't allowed to be in outdoor shoes inside the school, which sucks because then I can't wear my wedges and such... I mean for what wearing them and then taking them off for most of the day? But on the brighter side the school is really clean and you can sit on the floors in the hallways without having any food or something stuck on your butt :)

next time i will take better photos i promise. these were taken at the end of the day and i was exhausted.

Hope you enjoyed my little talk, also thanks to you all for the lovely comments and motivation you provide. I took all your advice for the first day of school and it wasn't even as scary as I thought it would be.

Hi everyone, this is what I wore today. I didn't really do much but since I got the chance to go out in public I used that moment to dress up a lil' because I haven't done it for quite some time :D
Gaah its been so much fun relazxing, reading blogs and watching youtuLady gagabe videos. My week's been great.

Yesterday I went to the school which I will be attending starting this next coming Tuesday and OMG I was so nervous, seeing all these people who I felt were 'MORE PRETTIER THAN ME' and everyone was blonde and they were wearing all these nice clothes. It wasn't jealousy because Im never jealous over little things like those, I really have no idea why my mind was acting up that way.

It was the day that we receive our timetables and change them if we need to. So me being the person that I am -i don't enjoy being in crouded places- I decided to head home and look at my timetable in peace. There were a few mistakes for instance I was put in Icelandic 102 instead of 203. I passed Ice-103 this summer when I was in summer school. I was also supposed to take accounting class 203 but unfortunately they do not teach it the first semester. In total I will be taking 8 subjects this fall/winter semester... which is quite a lot but hey its 20 ECT's :) Also I will be starting to learn Francais ;D;D;D Im so excited! Though in the summer I will continue with my Espanol.

Enough about my sort-of-interesting life. Im gonna go now.

Back to school: Three Simple Outfits

Hi everyone, after posting the 'fall must haves' post I thought I should show you all some simple styling tips for a little inspiration. It's just to give you all a little idea of how I would style the items I listed. Hope you like them.

1. The first outfit consists of a dark plaid shirt and some light wash denim skinnies. And of course a scarf and some gold jewelry. You can also see that I added the slight oversized brown leather bag and some brogues.

2. Jumperes, jumpers & more jumpers! I decided to pair these jumpers with a bodycon skirt and dress. Can you guess which is which?... Didn't think so. Since there is a lot going on for both outfits I decided to minimize the accesorizing of jewelry by just wearing single necklaces. I would definitely add a statement ring as well because thats how I roll.

3. The aztec style sweater is so fab. I don't have something like this YET in my closet but I will definitely be looking. First I need a job haha. I paired it with a lot of jewelry as you can see since Im a person who likes to stuck up on bangles and rings. I also added a warm grey snood to compliment the boots and the sweater itself.

Back to school: Bag must haves

This is my second post in the 'back to school series' that will be flowing in the next couple of days/weeks. I m so excited about it, I have everything planned and jotted down :) Hope you guys are as excited as I am :)

Down below I have listed my top ten school bag must haves for any girl out there... even guys.

1. Womanly needs: pads, tampons, extra undies. Whatever you use for you MPs. Make sure you keep them in your bag at all times because you never know when 'Auntie Katie' might come for a visit, especially if you are like me and you don't really like surprises. Don't forget to have panadol or ibuprofen or some kind of painkiller. Preferably keep them in your pencil case because then you can reach for them very quickly.

2. Hand lotion: Always have some hand lotion or some sort of lotion in your bag because you never know when you will have dry hands and you don't want your hands to feel like a crocodile's body. People wont like cracky hands... but its for your own good :)

3. Drink: Preferably water because its good for you and will keep you hydrated. If you like sodas go ahead but I really don't suggest them because I feel like if I have too much sugar through the day I become tired. Maybe its just me.

4. Notebook/diary: If you are planning on being organized and do well this semester then a diary is an absolute must! I have always used diaries from 3rd grade. Since then I've truly grown into being a very organized person which has helped a lot in the past years.

5. Money: You never know when you'll get hungry, especially if you are like me where as you wake up early but still have to run for the bus and you never get to eat breakfast which is the most important meal out of the three. Take some cash with you just to be prepared to beat the hunger when it strikes.

6. Body spray/perfume: After spritzing yourself with your favourite scent and then leave it home. What if you start having anxiety in school and you start to sweat? how are you going to make yourself smell good and not alienate people? You can't because you left your perfume at home. To avoid all that chaos make sure to always keep a spray in your bag or locker. I wouldn't suggest a full sized bottle of Chanel number 5. Pick something light and easy to throw in your bag, because if it breaks then you won't get too depressed since it'll be a small size instead of something you paid a lot for.

7. Gum: One of my biggest pet peeves is to not ever leave the house without GUM. The ones I suggest are minty ones because they freshen your breath, I mean you can't be looking all cute and made up and then the moment you open your mouth its like a rotten dust bin. Let's be real now, everyone likes to have a good breath so keep gum with you everywhere you can. In your car, bag, locker, pockets. So you don't run out :)

8. Lip Balm/-Gloss: We all want nice smooth soft lips so always have with you a lip balm or should I say lip balms. Make it like gum spread them in your car and locker. Make sure they have a nice smelling scent. For all you US and Canada readers you could try the EOS ones. I've heard so many great things about them and I wait till I can get my fingers on them... I will probably buy the whole walmart or something hahah.

9. Nail Clippers: I always carry one with me because you never know when you'll accidentally break your nail. That's where the clippers can to rescue.

10. Beanie: Always have a hat with your, you never know when you'll get something stuck in your hair and instead of trying to rip it out its better to let it be till you get home. In the mean time you could cover it with a cute beanie. When I talk cute Im not talking about hello kitty cute... I mean some solid colour like maybe a turquoise or a dark blue. I can't wait to start to start school because this is the time when all my beanies come out to play :) Also maybe after gym you usually have a bad hair day then just throw on the beanie. Some would suggest hair ties/ribbons but ponytails can be so boring. Beanies look better plus they keep you warm.

That's it everyone. Im so happy to post these back to school series because I really do enjoy school very much and also I haven't been working over the summer so my summer hasn't been all excitement. I will be moving and attending a new school... I don't know if I've already mentioned it. Im very anxious because at that school I don't know anyone. I chose to attend a different school because if I went to the same school as most of my friends I wouldn't concentrate on my studies. My school days would just pretty much consists of chit-chats and bang bangs - just felt like adding that to complete the sentence lol. And overall I just want another experience and make more friends from all sorts of backgrounds.

Newly purchased: Clothing items

Hello everyone. Remember when I posted my fashion wishlist a while back? Well I had been searching everywhere. I bought some things that I really wanted yaaay :D and of course some extra things...
I didn't buy all these clothes at the same time, some were bought 2 months ago or so but were never talked about so I decided to include them in this post as well.

Also my lovely parents bought me some clothes which will be included down below. I will state what they bought me so check the captions.

First we have my lovely lace dresses. Believe it or not I bought the same dress in two colours just because it was on such a great price, its open back, and it shows off my behind very well. Just wait till you see me wear it ;) Each dress cost ISK. 1,500.

Don't you just adore the detailing. The puffy lace on the shoulders? plus its a little stretchy. I love how its high neck in the front and then bamm! in the back.
I bought these shoes like last year.... I know Im strange. Keeping shoes for almost a year and not even using them. They are from H&M.

This blazer that I recently featured in an outfit post. I lovelovelove it. And it has shoulder pads :D

Sorry for the bad picture but you can see the print of it. Its sheer and its so light. The only downside to it is that the sleeves are bit long for my hands:/

This one is also a sheer material. i bought them at the same place. i love the colours of this.

What mum bought:

She bought these jeans for ISK 1,000. before they were 11.900. What a great deal, though i am wondering why they were so cheap haha, oh well I love them so that's what matters. And also you might have seen them in the latest outfit posts too.

this dress came with a brown belt that isn't photographed. i love the colours of it and Im planning on doing a manicure inspired by this dress. its gonna be hard work.

And lastly I bought myself a glasses necklace that I've been eyeing for quite some time now. it was about ISK 990 and I got 30% off.

Yeah. Now I feel like I bought way to many things but still almost every morning I get the feeling of not having anything to wear. Does that happen to you too?

Back to school : Fall/Autumn fashion must haves

Since most of us are going back to school very soon, I wanted to write about some must haves that every girl/guy should own in their closet. Now I'm not suggesting you go crazy shopping and spend all your dimes on jumpers and boots.
My favourite seasons of the year would have to be fall and winter. I love the cold weathers. Im already guessing all of you know the fall colours. The leaves turn magnificent colours. I like to describe them as a beautiful burgundy brown and they usually have a hint of orange to them... lol isn't that obvious. In some places it will be rainy and cold... but not winter cold.

here my fall/autumn essentials in no particular order:

1. Plaid: At this time of the year I always seem to notice many people rocking the plaids. I love the patterns of it and the colours are alway what draw my attention. i happen to own one plaid shirt/cardigan thingy that I customized :D be expecting it in some sooner to be seen outfits of the days. They are so easy to throw on and you are out the door.

2. Scarfs: This is the time of the year that I rock out all of my awesome scarves. Though I tend to wear scarves even in the summer because 'summer' in Iceland isn't really SUMMER. Snoods or 'infinity' scarves as some others like to call them and one of my favourite types of scarves. They don't have a tendency of untangling of any sort. When you wear them, you wear them till the end of the day. If you are going to buy one choose a really nice colour that you will wear at least everyweek :D

3. Oversized bags : Now when I talk oversized I don't mean some overwhelming abnoxious bag that you can't even carry because its a little too big for you! Im talking about you going out there and trying on all kinds of bags and find the perfect one that can fit all of your school supplies like binders and folders. It also needs to somewhat give out an impression of your style. Style doesn't only appear from clothes but also from accesories.

4. Jumpers : They are HUGE must have for every fashionista out there. There is so much you can do with them. You can tuck them into jeans, skirts, if they are long enough you could even wear them with only tights and booties. The list can go on... have some jumpers myself and I love them. I have been wearing some of them in the summer and I can't wait to rock them in the fall season. They are pretty much like cardigans, Very easy to throw on and they keep you warm. Adding some nice accesories and a scarf and off you go. You can buy them in nice beautiful colours and prints, they can be baggy or tight. I prefer mined baggy but not to the point that my body disappears it it and also because comfort is always my goal to feeling good about myself.

5. Cardigans : I don't want to repeat myself here but EVERYONE should have at least ONE cardigan in their closet. That's just the rule I guess hahaha. They are best styled with tights and dresses, jeans... preferably skinny jeans or just your favourite jeans that you feel flatter your body and of course some boots. And not forgetting to accessorize.

6. Brogues/Oxford styled shoes : Im stills searching for my pair but soon... hopefully by next month I might have already found it. I want them in black because I think they are classy in that colour... wait is black a colour? oppsie daisy a lil blondie momento there. If you guys find your perfect pair and care to share then feel free :P

7. Jeans : Colours I would say would look great are some dark blues, browns and some of those weird brown colours... earthy tones? You get my point... otherwise the advice I could give for jeans is wear whatever makes you happy. Also since everyone already has something there is no need to go out and shop for jeans just because I said so. Just experiment with what you already have... maybe add a jumper?

8. Boots : I have my UGGs... btw they are fake so don't worry, be happy - i just had to finish the sentence :) I also have my combat/military boots so I think Im pretty set. Other than that Im craving me some riding boots of some sort.

9. Bodycon : Wether its a dress or skirt. Or even both. I think they are great to wear in the fall. For instance you could wear a body con dress with a jumper over and add a skinny or thick belt over, then add some necklace and/or scarf and some earrings, bangles and your tights with brogues - you are all set for a new day. They are very simple to style and very comfortable as well.

Hope this gave you some ideas of which fashion items I think of when I hear/read the words fall/autumn. Of course there is much more but that would take a lot of time to write. These are just some basic essentials.

Gay Pride/Parade '11

The girl/boy in the dress here... is Vala Grand. She went through a down-there surgery - you get what Im saying?? Before she was a guy now she has a vagina... at least thats what she said to the media.

I don't really like being surrounded by many people... but I still go to huge happenings like this so I guess there's no way I should be complaining lol. But daaaaarn look at all those people!!!

DIY Outfit

I love this outfit, BECAUSE I customized both items, the shorts... you all know I made them by myself ~ and the crop top/off the shoulder I also made myself... well to be correct 'i cut it myself'. Newly purchased : Beauty related items

Firstly, my prayers go out to all Londoners out there. These riots are crazy. People are being killed. My mother stayed up all night just to keep track of what was happening, I do watch the news as well even though its a little bit out of my league but I just thought I would point that out there. If I have any London readers or anywhere close to that place, keep safe people. I really wish it could all just stop and people can continue enjoying their summer and not worrying about what they will see happen next.

This past month I went a little bit crazy. The deals were eating me up. There were/still are so many great summer sales/deals out there and I just totally fell for it, but for now I have to stop since school is starting in a couple of weeks and I need to start shopping for school supplies and not more clothes. All of my allowance I get from dad and mum were spent on these items and even more to come. I don't feel guilty... but now Im absolutely B-R-O-K-E __ which is quite good.

Hi everyone, so my last post was about how I was sick and all that, then I started feeling a little better. Yesterday I went to the Gay Pride/parade. It was really fun and I met up with one of m very good friends that I hadn't met in a very long time. We took lots of photos and had a great time. Though later when I came home I came to realise that I didn't take any photos of the whole outfit that I was wearing :(

Anyway, yeah I felt better my lips were doing well otherwise I wouldn't even have gone outside. Later in the night I had some 'drinks' if you know what I mean... and then after I was done I started to feel some itchiness and swelling in my lips. I made some lip scrub out of honey and sugar and then put on the special made lip balm for my allergy. Watched a some Jerseylicious and went to bed. In the morning they were HUGE. Now I seriously need to watch what I eat/drink because all of those MSG´s and E products are the reason for my lips becoming humungous.

Now on to my nails

This is my manicure for this past week. I just adore the flowers and the glitter together. And my left hand looks really good.

What have I been up to lately?

These past weeks I haven't done much. There haven't been any outfit posts or newly purchased because I have just been ~~chilling at home enjoying the summer,~~ actually no I will take that back. I have been at home sick, I have been having allergic reactions the past weeks. my lips swell and itch, fluid coming out and its just nasty. They dry out and I peel them without even noticing and then the next thing you see if blood. So not attractive. Which led to me locking myself indoors when dad and mum are at work, I haven't been in the mood to meet anyone since I feel ugly and its embarrassing.

Now my lips are starting to cool off and be better so I am looking forward to Gay Pride this weekend. We have a fulltime planned schedule, me and my friends are going to meet in town later in the evening and gonna have a good time dancing :) I can't wait to dress up lol

This is what I've been doing while sick...

I got my pop corn and water ready for the latest True Blood episode which was 1 hour and it was great!!!

I have also been reading Elizabert Gilberts' Eat, Pray, Love. It's a great book though I haven't read much of it.

I've also been playing around with some eyeshadows. I seriously need me some make up brushes and more gold shadows to use for school.

Oh man I would love to have her hair <3

Orange is a pretty colour

Just a quick mani. This is Gosh's 581 Orange drops.

It's very easy to apply and the brush is like PERFECT, I'm not sure if it's the polish or the brush but together they work really well. The polish is not too liquid-y. I used about 2-3 coat depending on the nails. Also the fun part is that it has a shimmer to it so its all sparkly n stuff :) If you are looking for a quick drying pretty orange polish then I suggest this one, also they are way cheeper than O.P.I's.

These i've had them for 2 days and they started chipping a lil but no biggie. You don't even notice it!

Here is my attempt of 'AZTEC' feel nails hahaha, I completely failed! I wore these to the African Day last month.

Now I'm off to nap.

Monthly Favourites : July

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. I am not because aunt Becka is visiting and she's making me grumpy!
Anyway I am starting this new thing called 'monthly favourites', its basically where I talk about products that I reached for mostly for that month. If you are an avid watcher of 'beauty gurus on Youtube' then I am very sure that you have at least some sort of idea of what I am talking about becaue its VERY popular there; but since I am not making videos anymore I thought what other better way than to bring that idea along to blogger. I will do my best to find great deals and great products to add to my favourites so that it won't be too repetitive because its not very often that I change up my make up products. I use same things all over, but I will try to get out there and try out something new just for the sake of you all and of course myself :)

First I have the Love Spell from Victoria's secret. It smells really fresh and clean. I like splashing it all over me when I get out of the shower whilst my pores are open. It makes you smell good all day but I usually carry it with me and sneak to the toilet whenever I get a chance!

Secondly I have my face moisturiser which is the Shiseido matifying cream. I did a review on it here. It's perfect for me since its oil-free and you don't really need much.

Also I've been loving my colourful eye liners. I ve been using the hell outta this green one for so long. I don't understand how its not finito yet? It really makes me look awake and fresh. Try using a colour liner instead of always the same old thing - black.

My Sleek foundation in Deep sable. It says that its silicone based but I never noticed any plump to my face. It's oil-free which is good for me since I have oily skin so I don't need to add any more moisture to my face... still I continued using it because I think it gave me a great coverage?

260 Sonic Boom from Sally Hansens Insta Dri line. Its my favourite from all the nail designs and polishes that I wore this month. You can check it out My mouth wash - all time favourite you will be seeing this every month I think haha.

Then we got the Dove body lotion that I use in the summer because it has a shimmer tint to it. I think I may have raved about it somewhere... if you are interested look into the beauty tab :D

My eyelash curler that I use pretty much everyday, I don't really need to use it because my lashes are already curled perfectly... I think I may be brain-washed by all these Youtube gurus.

Dr. Fisher hand wipes. They are perfect to throw in your bag and they come in very handy especially when u grab some snacks through the day and afterwards you just use them to wipe off the dirt. Its a disseffectant. Everyone should own something like that in their handbag/purse/schoolbag.

Hawaiian tropic lipgloss in island berry. Its tastes and smells delicious! it has SPF 25 which is good because I never use lipglosses/balms that contain SPF. I never saw the need of it but then I did some research and it turns out we need it for everyday exposure of the sun on our lips.

My tweezers, I bought them at the local phamarcy/beauty store. Its very easy to use and the fact that it has the holding part kinda provided for you = the green part.

It's my first post on this so I am not yet into the whole thing. The next one will be somewhat better... i hope lol.

Wishlist: Fashion

I recently posted a make up wishlist and now its time for a fashion wishlist. just some of the things that i am looking into purchasing sometime soon or later on this year. i am making a list so that i can keep an eye and if i see something similar to these below then i'll make sure to snatch it!

LACE DRESSES

To be honest I own only one lace dress in my closet and its a black one. when it comes to them I think every girl should own a pair. Its a MUST. They are so versatile, you can dress henm up or down, winter or summer. So I am starting to hunt for another lace dress to add to my closet, it will be either black or white or any other colour that catches my eye.

this dress is really pretty but i think the sleeves and the dress itself are a little too long for my taste, i would prefer it having shorter sleeves and the length of the dress being a little shorts.

i love this one and the designs are just so pretty. And also the fact that its a bodycon.

molly king -of the saturdays, her dress is exactly something that i am looking for. 3/4 sleeves and short = PERFECTION

A while ago I received the 'stylish blogger award' from Lita's daily life. I have been putting off posting it because I've been so lazy the past weeks. What a coincidence right now I am listening to 'Lazy song' by Bruno Mars lol

D.I.Y : Jean shorts

Good morning world!

Since my last outfit post I was wearing D.I.Y (ed) shorts and lots of you really liked how they turned out and so I decided that I do a post on how to cut jeans into shorts.

Now the picture above are some capris pants that mum gave me, now I didn't really feel the whole capris with studs vibe so I decided to cut them into shorts which equals to them getting much use of than if they were capris.

Step 1. Firstly you will need jeans or something long than knee length, scissors, a colourful pen that will show over the colour of the jeans - contrast? and a ruler. Or if you want to go more professional you will need a needle and thread of a sewing machine.

Step 2. Now you will need to put on your jeans and measure the size of the length that you would like the shorts to be, just make a dot that is see-through in the inside. you can see that I started lining there... you see the green line?Remember that its better to have them a little longer than shorter because then you can just cut a little bit of them again and thats clearly not possible if you cut them too short at once! EXCUSE THE NASTY toes peeking through lol

Step 3. Now turn your jeans inside-out and try to find that dot that we did on the outside of the jeans and make a line on one of the legs of the jeans. Cut that part.

Step 4. Once you've finished cutting the first leg, fold them together and use a ruler to mark a line following the length of the short leg you cut before. try to be as precise as you can.

Now the fun part is that you have you own shorts no sewing required at all! - your choice though. But what I really like about it is that you can change them up each day you can give them a different look... today they can be slightly longer than usual and the next day you can fold them shorter. Also if you prefer you can add the destroyed denim feel to it using a cheese grater or just the ends of the scissors. I preferred not to since I already had the studs.

Also I got very inspired to do this after seeing Madeline's D.I.Y on shorts, which was actually my first blog post of hers that I read ;) She does it the more professional way so if you want to make yours slightly different I suggest you check her out.

I don't know whats gotten in me but I feel like i am going a little crazy with all of the posts lol. I blame tumblr. I had this design some time back and me lurved it. here i think i took the photos two after i have painted them and they already started to chip. its a very easy design to do.

How to: paint your nails a dark pink or which ever colouir you want to use. then take a deep blue or black polish and make stripes like i did on all nails. after that u can either use a dotting tool or the polish brush depending on how well of dots you can make with it. add some minty green and gold - ish dots and a top coat of your choice and you are finito. relatively easy!

Polka dots & studs

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for all the lovely comments that I've been receiving on my posts and also for making me reach 30+ followers. Thats a huge accomplish for me and I am very grateful.

here is an outfit that i wore yesterday when i was just lounging around the house doing nothing... well i did clean up a little so i guess i did a lil something lol.
